A Hint T'Pol Is In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Right Under Our Noses?

On a recent episode of Virtual Trek Con's Tuesday live show, "The Main Viewer," Dr. Ann Marie Segal brought up the subject that Star Trek: Enterprise's T'Pol might be in the upcoming Strange New Worlds series. The panel surmised that, with Jolene Blalock being at last September's Star Trek Day event in Sherman Oaks, CA, coupled with the impression that Blalock doesn't usually go Star Trek events or conventions, we may have received an unintentional hint that she is returning to the Star Trek production universe.

With Vulcan's longevity of life in Star Trek, Jolene Blalock's T'Pol could still theoretically be alive one hundred years after Enterprise ended. Discovery would've been in that era, until the show went even further into the future after their second season, leaving only the upcoming Strange New Worlds residing in that timeframe.

A clip of the conversation can be seen below.

"The Main Viewer" broadcasts live every Tuesday at 6pm Pacific Time, 9pm Eastern from the Virtual Trek Con YouTube channel and is hosted by Ryan T. Husk. This episode was co-hosted by Dr. Segal, Dr. Mohamed Noor, and Meteorologist Katie Nickoloaou, and featured special guest, Star Trek Prodigy's Bonnie Gordon.

Strange New Worlds is in production right now and we're hoping for an air date announcement soon, but the show seems to be on track for a 2022 premiere. The show already features several fan favorite characters from Discovery and The Original Series, but Blalock's T'Pol would certainly be a very welcome surprise addition. There are other cast possibilities such as Gary Graham's Vulcan "Ambassador Soval" from Enterprise and Mary Chieffo's "Chancellor L'Rell" in Discovery, but that's a conversation for a different time.

Until then, you can watch the full episode of The Main Viewer on the Virtual Trek Con YouTube channel or right here.

On Wednesday, Cirroc Lofton's Star Trek show, The 7th Rule, announced that they are uniting with Denise Crosby to review every episode in which Crosby's character "Tasha Yar" appeared. In a video from The 7th Rule's YouTube channel , Crosby states that she has never before gone though and watched her Next Generation episodes which ran from 1987 to 1988, until she came back in a few episodes of subsequent seasons. 35 years later, this will be her first full TNG viewing experience. The 7th Rule is a bi-weekly video podcast in which Lofton, producer Ryan T. Husk, and dozens of Star Trek cast and crew review and discuss Star Trek episodes, one by one. The show was created by the late Aron Eisenberg, Cirroc's consistent DS9 scene partner when they were known as "Jake Sisko" and "Nog."

With just a handful of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes left to review, The Show That Jake and Nog Built is left with an existential decision -- what's next? There have been no shortage of guesses and suggestions from the fanbase, but The 7th Rule team has never said -- or even insinuated -- that there will be anything next.

Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 saw the launch of the newly remastered episodes of The 7th Rule - A Star Trek Podcast. This brainchild of the late Aron Eisenberg brought Deep Space Nine characters, Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton) and Nog (Aron Eisenberg), back together again - with the intent to revisit the series from the perspective of the two Star Trek alumni. The 7th Rule, produced and hosted by Ryan T Husk, has been a labor of love from its inception. Lofton and Husk took on the daunting task of maintaining and expanding the show since the untimely passing of Aron in September of 2019.

On Monday night's episode of The 7th Rule podcast , actor William Sadler suddenly popped into the live chat while Cirroc Lofton and Ryan T. Husk were reviewing Deep Space Nine's sixth season episode, "Inquisition." Star Trek fans will recall this is the episode in which "Sloan" -- played by Sadler -- eventually reveals to Julian Bashir (and the audience) the existence of a secret group known as Section 31 and tries to recruit the good doctor into it. Mr. Sadler joined the live chat (the discussion bar on the right of the YouTube screen that allows viewers to have a live chat while the video is premiering) about midway into the review and was very quickly noticed by the fans. Mr. Sadler was very friendly and engaging with everyone. The viewers asked him various questions, including whether he'd be willing to reprise his role in the new Star Trek: Section 31 series being developed for Paramount+. His response is below.

Over the past several weeks, the Facebook group, The Andorian Memeing Consortium, conducted a tournament called, “Greatest Recurring Character on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.” Each pairing would garner votes for 48 hours via Facebook reaction emojis. The winner in each bracket would then proceed to the next round. The competition was fierce and the choices were often very difficult. Nog’s rise to the victor’s seat began in a battle with the head of the Klingon Empire, Gowron. What was to follow for the ambitious young Ferengi would be some choices occurring within our favorite Ferengi family. Nog’s own father, Rom, would be his next challenger. An impossible choice to be sure, as both characters are beautiful and beloved staples of the show.

On The 7th Rule Podcast this past Thursday, Deep Space Nine's Jake Sisko, Cirroc Lofton, told Star Trek Prodigy's writer/producer, Aaron J. Waltke, that the animated show's most recent episode, "Kobayashi," is "the best new episode of Star Trek" he's ever seen. Waltke was visibly moved by the sentiment and discussed how difficult the episode was to make as well as how important Star Trek is to him throughout the podcast which included the voice actress that portrays the ship's computer, Bonnie Gordon, and the show's co-host and producer, Ryan T. Husk. The clip of Cirroc's big proclamation and Aaron's subsequent reaction can be viewed here:
